Within a Short Walk

The Southern Appalachians are considered to be one of the most biologically diverse places on earth.

We are fortunate to live there where we have the opportunity to witness first hand the parade of bloom cornucopia appearing in our surrounding Pisgah National Forest and adjacent Blue Ridge Parkway.  All the specimen plants depicted herein are from my photographs “within a short walk.”

I have selected only white flora as they complement themselves appropriately to my black and white photography.  They also lend themselves perfectly to being depicted as platinum and palladium prints.

The platinum and palladium process has historically been considered the premier, treasured, and tonally richest permanent emulsion system available.  Each photographic print is hand-made and regarded as a unique piece of photographic art in its own right.

Visits to the studio are welcome and by appointment.
