27,848 feet waiting for the trigger …

The annual Savannah Rock and Roll Marathon, which winds through the many parks and neighborhoods in downtown Savannah (GA), begins with the pull of a trigger and the rise of the sun.  The start is not all at once, but in waves of a thousand at 45 second intervals.  The number of participants were half the number of feet.

The joy of victory …

  K.B. (my wife) celebrated a significant accomplishment Saturday by exceeding her personal finish time goal in the Savannah Rock and Roll Half-Marathon by five minutes.  She finished 9th out of a field of 257 in her age group, and in the top 10% of a half-marathon field of over 11,000, running an 8'22" pace. A champion falls …

We finished our bike ride today at Tanglewood Park, and as we were loading our bikes, a camper having left the the campground a short distance away passed our parking lot , but ---- his canopy was still deplyed on the right side of his van.  Whap!
