The Winston-Salem Police Honor Guard tradition of standing guard to honor fallen officers was created by Chief Scott Cunningham in October of 2010.  The Guard presents colors at public events, opens police ceremonies, attends academy graduations and memorial services for other officers in the region, and participates in  National Police Week  which is the centerpiece activity of the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund  once a year in Washington, D.C.  For every day Winston-Salem has lost a…
